My partner (of 25 years) and I spent a few days in NYC over the Independance Day holiday and stumbled across Bamboo 52 on July 4th '07 while the fireworks were going on.
We'd eaten earlier so we were there for just cocktails. The waiter (who told us he also bartended on other nights) welcomed us and made us feel at home. The music was great and we really appreciated the attention he gave us. He made us feel comfortable , sat with us and made us laugh and just made us feel good.
We're from a tiny town in the sticks in North Carolina and I have to admit that I had some hesitation about tackling the big apple. Would people be friendly?
We enjoyed ourselves so much that we came back the next night (7-5-07) for sushi and sat at the bar while these amazing chefs prepared a feast for us!
OMG! These guys were great! The waitress brought us amazing cocktails (I've turned our friends on to the Geisha Mojito) and the chefs were friendly and chatted with us while they prepared our meal and even gave us a custom made salad that wasn't on the menu as a treat ...
The waiter from the night before was working behind the bar that night and he kept us happy. The waitress (a gorgeous asian lady) was attentive and saw to our every request. The sushi chefs were so much fun to chat with.... and I ate more raw fish than I ever thought I could. Yum!
Just thought I'd let you know that I can't wait to go back to New York!
By the way ... LOVE the mirror ball with the red light in the sushi bar!
Love ya!
